Overview

This document outlines the steps needed to upgrade an existing Access It! Universal.NET system to an Access It! Universal.NET v9 system. The upgrade process requires that a backup of the Access It! Universal.NET databases be performed prior to any upgrade.

This document applies to:

  • Access It! Universal.NET v5
  • Access It! Universal.NET v6
  • Access It! Universal.NET v7
  • Access It! Universal.NET v8

Upgrade Precautions

  • Legacy 2G Hardware using the 2G protocol is not supported due to 64-bit incompatibility
  • Legacy biometrics is not supported due to 64-bit incompatibility
  • Legacy barfont.dll is not supported due to 64-bit incompatibility
  • Legacy GetRecordSet COM call is not supported due to 64-bit incompatibility
  • HID pivCLASS 5.21 (or newer) is required on version 9.0
  • After the upgrade is performed, all SCP panels will be set as Uninstalled. This is done so that the dealer may install the SCPs one at a time allowing for a controlled system-wide reset. While uninstalled, the Access It! Universal.NET service will continue to process all panel events. Any database updates made while uninstalled will be processed after the panel completes the firmware download and reset. Details on what panels will be disabled can be found in this SCP Automatically Uninstalled article.
  • Due to User Permission enhancements, it may be required that User Group properties be updated.
  • Legacy Biometric integrations require the biometric type to be redefined within the SCP screen. See device specific KB articles for configuration information.
  • Regional Server installations must use the Database Configuration Utility and drop all SQL replication Publications and Subscriptions. These should be rebuilt after upgrading.
  • Bosch G, GV2 and GV3 v8.05 intrusion detection panels are no longer supported. Bosch panels should be updated to Bosch GV3 v8.13 or greater.
  • If utilizing the Access It! Universal.NET API a the upgraded software must utilize HTTPS traffic
  • ASSA ABLOY no longer supports SQL Server 2008 R2. If using this version of SQL Server, it must be upgraded prior to installing.
  • ASSA ABLOY integration licensing will need to re-licensed.
Submitting and updating ASSA ABLOY integration licensing
  • If using LP panels in Legacy Mode the channels will need to be disabled prior to upgrading. Once disabled, the LP panel will need to be set back to normal operating mode and changed from an EP to a LP panel within the SCP properties.
See KB article "LP Series Legacy Mode" for additional details.
