Farpointe Data mobile credentials allow for using a smart phone or device to gain entry when presented at a Conekt mobile-ready reader. The credential is stored on the phone within the Conekt Wallet App and can be found on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. When purchased, these mobile credentials are delivered in the form of a CSV file containing a cross reference to the card numbers and registration keys.
Access It! Universal.NET Licensing
The following licensing option must be enabled within Access It! Universal.NET.
- Mobile Credentials - Yes
The following components are required to complete the integration.
- Access It!® Universal.NET min s/w v8
- Customer-provided email server connection information
- Conekt mobile-ready reader
- Smartphone with Conekt Wallet App installed
- CSV file containing card number and registration keys
Server Setup
In order to deliver a registration key to a device, the Access It! Universal.NET server must be configured to send an email via the customers email server.
If the system is already using the notification feature of Access It! Universal.NET the current email service just needs to be assigned to the server.
- Within Access It! Universal.NET, navigate to the Servers section located under the System menu
- Edit the Access It! Universal.NET server
- Click the Mobile Credentials tab
- Under the Farpoint section, select Edit
- Click New to create a new email service
- In the Email Service Name field, enter an Email Service Name
- In the SMTP Server field, enter the name of the SMTP Server
This information is usually obtained from your internet provider or network administrator. - In the Mail from field, enter the name that will appear in the "From" field of the Email
This name can be a fictional name, but must be in Email format (i.e. Someone@someplace.com) - In the Default Subject field, enter the subject that will appear in the subject line of the Email
- In the Authentication Type field, enter the authentication type of the SMTP server
This information is usually obtained from your internet provider or network administrator. - In the POP Server field, leave blank as POP is not utilized
- In the User Name field, enter a valid user name to be used for authentication to the email server
- In the Password field, enter a valid password to be used for the above user name
- In the Charset field, enter the character set to be used with the email server
The default is "us-ascii" which is for the United States ASCII format. - In the TCP Port field, enter the TCP port to be used for communications with the email server
Most SMTP mail servers use TCP Port 25. - Click OK
- Click Save
- Assign the newly created email service
- Click Save
Importing credentials
- Within Access It! Universal.NET, navigate to the Mobile Credentials section located under the Configuration menu
- Under the Farpointe Data Credential tab select Import from Excel
- Click the ... button
- Navigate to the CSV file containing card number and registration key data
- Select the file
- Click Open
Any rows not containing a card number and registration code are skipped. - Click Close
Assigning Credentials
- Within Access It! Universal.NET, navigate to the Cardholders section located under the Main menu
- Click New to create a new Cardholder/Card
- When at the step to enter card information, select credential type of Farpoint Mobile Credential
By default, the next available credential will automatically be assigned. If needing to specify a specific credential click the Choose credential button. - Enter a valid email address for the cardholder
- Select email certificate to automatically email the required registration code
- Save the Cardholder/Card
- The system will email an attachment which includes a QR code and registration key that may be redeemed through the Conekt Wallet App
Printing Farpointe Certificate Report (Optional)
- Within Access It! Universal.NET, navigate to the Cardholders section located under the Main menu
- Edit an existing Farpointe mobile credential
- Click the Print Certificate button
- A report is ran which includes a QR code and registration key that may be redeemed through the Conekt Wallet App
Importing via Data Exchange
Data Exchange allows for bulk importing and/or updating records from an external source. When configured correctly, this mechanism can be used to bulk assign mobile credentials.
The below are items that are specific to mobile credential imports:
The Date Exchange license must be enabled in order to bulk insert Farpointe Data mobile credentials.
- The data source must map a "dummy" card number
Once the mobile credential is issued the imported "dummy' card number will be updated with the actual credential number. - Facility code -2 must be mapped to the Facility Code field
- The users email address must be mapped to the Contact Information field
- The number 1 must be mapped to the Credential Type field in order to create Farpointe Data credentials
