SaaS LP/EP/SCP/2G IP Client Setup

Overview

This document outlines how to configure your LP/EP panel to communicate with the SaaS server. The SaaS server requires the panels to be configured for IP Client communication. When using this mode, the SCP panel communication begins at the panel and ends at the SaaS server using TLS encryption if available.

Prior to configuring the LP/EP controller for IP Client, it must already be pre-programmed with an IP address as outlined on the reverse side of the LP/EP Series Quick Reference sheet.

LP/EP IP Client Setup

  1. Open a web browser and go to the _PANELIPADDRESS
    Where PANEL_IPADDRESS is the IP address of the pre-programmed LP/EP panel.
  2. Click on Click Here to Login
  3. Click on Continue to this website (not recommended)
  4. Enter a Username of admin
  5. Enter a Password of password
  6. Click Host Comm from the left hand menu
  7. Set Primary Host Port Connection Type to IP Client
  8. Set Primary Host Port Host IP to SaaS address of xxxxx.rs2saas.com
    The xxxxx represents the customer specific URL which is supplied by the RS2 SaaS Team via email once the service has been purchased.
  9. Set Primary Host Port Connection Mode to Continuous
  10. Set Primary Host Port Data Security to TLS if Available
  11. Set Primary Host Port Port Number to 3001
  12. Set Primary Host Port Retry Interval to 5sec
  13. Click Accept
  14. Click Apply Setting from the left hand menu
  15. Click Apply, Reboot button
  16. Wait 60 seconds for LP/EP to reboot

Legacy SCP IP Client Setup

The legacy SCP must have a Lantronix NIC card attached and pre-programmed with an IP Address prior to configuring IP Client connectivity.

  1. Open a Command Prompt
  2. Type “telnet PANEL’S IP ADRESS 9999”
  3. Select Option 1 to edit Channel 1
  4. Leave Baudrate at default settings
  5. Leave I/F Mode at default settings
  6. Leave Flow at default settings
  7. Change Port Number to customers desired port of communication
  8. Change ConnectMode to 03
  9. Leave Start Char at default settings
  10. Leave Auto increment source port at default settings
  11. Change Remote IP Address to the IP address of the Access Control Server
  12. Change Remote Port to customers desired port of communication
  13. Leave DisConnMode at default settings
  14. Leave FlushMode at default settings
  15. Leave DisConnTime at default settings
  16. Leave SendChar 1 at default settings
  17. Leave SendChar2 at default settings
  18. Select Option 9 to save and exit
  19. Close the Command Prompt

Legacy 2G Client Setup

The legacy 2G must have a "SCP" flavor firmware version 3.120 must have a Lantronix NIC card attached and pre-programmed with an IP Address prior to configuring IP Client connectivity.

  1. Open a Command Prompt
  2. Type “telnet PANEL’S IP ADRESS 9999”
  3. Select Option 1 to edit Channel 1
  4. Leave Baudrate at default settings
  5. Leave I/F Mode at default settings
  6. Leave Flow at default settings
  7. Change Port Number to customers desired port of communication
  8. Change ConnectMode to 03
  9. Leave Start Char at default settings
  10. Leave Auto increment source port at default settings
  11. Change Remote IP Address to the IP address of the Access Control Server
  12. Change Remote Port to customers desired port of communication
  13. Leave DisConnMode at default settings
  14. Leave FlushMode at default settings
  15. Leave DisConnTime at default settings
  16. Leave SendChar 1 at default settings
  17. Leave SendChar2 at default settings
  18. Select Option 9 to save and exit
  19. Close the Command Prompt

More Information
Legacy panels do not support the SaaS Shared port of 3001. For every legacy panel, a dedicated IP Client channel designated for a unique port must be created. If further assistance is necessary, please contact the RS2 SaaS Team for additional information.
