Overview

Beginning with Windows 10, Performance Monitor is a built in tool within Windows that allows for tracking system performance. In addition to the Windows metrics, Access It! Universal.NET 6.1 introduced the following software specific counters that can be monitored:

  • Transaction backlog - Number  of transactions that need to be processed
  • Transactions per second - Number of transactions processed per second
  • Average time to process a transaction - Average time in milliseconds to process a transaction. This counter is reset every second.
  • SCPs Offline - Number of SCPs that are currently offline

Event Processing

As events occur at a SCP, they are reported and placed into an in-memory transaction buffer. Once every 5 milliseconds, the next 100 transactions are retrieved from this buffer and are then processed one at a time. Should the backlogged buffer count ever exceed 5000, the service will stop retrieving events from SCPs until the buffer count is less than 1000.
Events configured for the event reporting of (None) are not inserted into the buffer
