With the release of Access It! Universal.NET 7.0, support has been added for direct IP based communication to an ENGAGE gateway and its devices. ENGAGE devices reside within an ENGAGE site which should not be confused with the term "site" used throughout Access It! Universal.NET.
The ENGAGE Site must be created within Access It! Universal.NET. If using an ENGAGE site created outside of the software, all devices must be removed and factory reset. In order to gain the ability to recreate the site once again you must go into SQL Management Studio, navigate to the "GlobalSettings" table and delete the contents.
Access It! Universal.NET Licensing
The following licensing option must be enabled within the Access It! Universal.NET dongle and is a per lock count license.
The following components are required to complete the integration.
Supported ENGAGE Devices
The following devices have been successfully tested using the ENGAGE integration.
All devices communicate via Secure AES-256 bit encrypted 2.4 GHz Bluetooth 4.0 protocol between Gateway and ENGAGE enabled devices which does not interfere with Wi-Fi networks. A detailed site survey is recommended to determine range in each unique environment. Up to 30’ can be achieved in typical building environments. Under ideal conditions, up to 50’ line of sight may be possible. A detailed site survey is recommended to determine if the extended range can be achieved. Performance is dependent on local physical (geometry, construction materials, and furnishings) and RF environment. For planning purposes users should consider estimating at least 10% contingency for Gateway quantity. Reference the ENGAGE Gateway Placement Guide for details.
The ability for a locks to communicate via WiFi is not supported.
ENGAGE Device Limitations
Up to 10 ENGAGE devices can be associated to a single ENGAGE gateway and there is no limit to the number of ENGAGE gateways that can be added to the Access It! Universal.NET software.
Every ENGAGE Device has support for up to (16) individual intervals. These intervals include access level schedules as well as unlock schedules. Access It! Universal.NET has safeguards in place to ensure this limit cannot be exceeded.
ENGAGE locks support up to 5,000 users per lock.
Configuring ENGAGE Site
Prior to configuring an ENGAGE Site, a user account must exist that has access to the ENGAGE portal. The portal, as well as sign in assistance can be found here: https://portal.allegionengage.com/signin
The Site must be created in Access It! Universal.NET and not in the ENGAGE mobile app.
The ENGAGE Integration will now report Yes.
Commission and Link ENGAGE Devices within Access It! Universal.NET
ENGAGE devices are configured using the Allegion ENGAGE mobile app which is accessible from the App Store or Google Play. All devices being commissioned must go through a factory reset (FDR). Consult device documentation for specific steps.

Updating ENGAGE Device firmware
Firmware updates should only be done under advisory from RS2 or Allegion. Because firmware is downloaded via BLE, it may take up to an hour to fully download a lock. Firmware is model-wide so that when an update for a model is sent, all devices of the same model will be updated.
