Resetting The NVRAM On An ASSA ABLOY IP Lockset


Cause

Reset the NVRAM only if instructed to by a RS2 or ASSA ABLOY engineer.

Resolution

Sargent / Persona

  1. Power down the lockset
  2. Remove the battery (if applicable)
  3. Hold down the white communication button inside the locket
  4. Continue to hold button, insert the batteries (if applicable)
  5. Continue to hold until red light turns on on the lockset
  6. Let go of white communication button
  7. After 2 minutes, force a communication session to the lockset

IN120 - Locks with Privacy Button

  1. Power down unit completely (no flashing on privacy/comm. button)
  2. With the cover off – power up unit while pressing down the privacy/comm. button
  3. Wait for lock to boot while continuing to hold the privacy/comm button
    This could be a minute or more.
  4. You should then see the privacy button start to flash a sequence
    • Slow blinks for 5 seconds
    • Fast blinks for 5 seconds
    • No blinking for 5 seconds

Soft Reset

A soft reset clears everything but persistent items such as privacy enable/disable.

  • Release button during slow flashing
  • Press button again – this starts the NVRAM reset

Hard Reset

A hard reset clears everything including persistent items such as privacy enable/disable.

  • Release button during fast flashing
  • Press button again – this starts the NVRAM reset

Cancel Reset

To cancel a reset either:

  • Release button during no flashing
    Or
  • Do not press button again after releasing it
