Invixium Biometric Integration

The Invixium biometric integration allows for enrolling biometric templates into an Invixium reader via Access It! Universal.NET. When using this integration, the biometric template, as well as any biometric comparisons are performed by the reader. Prior to configuring the integration, the following are required:

  • Access It! Universal.NET min s/w v5.6
  • Invixium IXM WEB min s/w v1.5.0.0
  • Invixium reader min f/w v1.5.0.0
    All Invixium readers except the MERGE CR are supported

Prior to configuring the IXM biometric integration, the IXM WEB software must be fully installed, licensed, and all biometric devices added.

In Order to Activate the IXM WEB software you must fill out and submit the IXM WEB form to receive an Activation ID.

Access It! Universal.NET Licensing
The following licensing option must be enabled within the Access It! Universal.NET dongle and is a system wide license.

  • Biometric Support - Yes


The Invixium readers should be wired to a Mercury-Security reader port using the standard Wiegand wiring. It is recommended the reader be powered over PoE or else a dedicated power supply (minimum 1A) must be used.

The LED wire is required for panel feedback functionality.

Configuring IXM WEB Database Synchronization
By default, every 30 seconds the IXM WEB syncs the databases between itself and the Access It! Universal.NET. To configure this database link:

  1. Log into IXM WEB
  2. Within page 2 of the home page, select Link
  3. Select RS2
  4. Enable the link by clicking the On/Off button located in the upper right-hand corner
    • Authentication Mode - Select the appropriate SQL Authentication mode used to connect to the AIUniversal database
    • Server - Enter the SQL Server name used by Access It! Universal
      Default SQL installations use an AIUniversal instance (SERVERNAME\AIUniversal)
    • Database - Use the database name AIUniversal
    • Interval - This value is how often the databases will sync. the default is 30 seconds
    • Sync Direction - Use the default option of bidirectional sync between IXM and RS2
    • Auto Transfer - Use the default option of All Users to All Devices
  5. Click Apply
  6. Click OK
  7. Click Sync Card Formats
  8. Click the Home Link to return to the home page

Configuring IXM WEB Panel Feedback
The Invixium reader reports Access Granted when a biometric template is successfully verified. If the credential is inactive within Access It! Universal.NET it can lead to user confusion when a reader reports "Access Granted" but the software displays "Access Denied". To prevent this, the Invixium reader can be configured to report "Access Granted" based on the feedback of the LED wire attached to the reader port of the Mercury-Security panel.
This functionality requires the LED wire be connected between Invixium reader and Mercury panel.

  1. Log into IXM WEB
  2. Click Devices
  3. Click the desired device
  4. Click Access Control
  5. Click Panel Feedback
  6. Enable the Panel Feedback by clicking the On/Off button located in the upper right-hand corner
  7. Enable the LED Control By Panel function by checking the LED Control By Panel checkbox
  8. Use the LED Mode One LED by adjusting the LED Mode drop down
  9. Click Apply
  10. Click the Home Link to return to the home page

Configuring IXM WEB Custom Card Formats
Invixium readers are configured to output 26 bit Wiegand and allow for the use of a custom Wiegand format. To create a new custom format:

  1. Log into IXM WEB
  2. Click General Settings
  3. Click Wiegand
  4. Click Create
  5. Click Custom
  6. Create the desired Card Format
  7. Select the card format to be used by the Invixium Readers within the Wiegand grid
  8. Click Selected from the Upload drop list
  9. Select (check) the device(s) to upload the format to
  10. Click OK
  11. Click the Wiegand Link to return to the Wiegand configuration page
  12. Click Home
  13. Click Devices
  14. Click Access Control
  15. Click Wiegand Output
  16. Set Output settings as follows:
    • Weigand
      • ID Type: Default Card
      • Duress: None
    • Identification
      • Success: newly uploaded card format
      • Fail: None
    • Verification
      • Success: newly uploaded card format
      • Fail: None
  17. Click Apply
  18. Click OK
  19. Click the Home Link to return to the home page

Configuring Access It! Universal.NET for Invixium Enrollment

  1. Navigate to Workstations (System | Workstations)
  2. Edit the Invixium enrollment workstation
  3. Select the Encode/Enroll tab
  4. Click New
  5. Provide a friendly name for the Device name
    This name will be used in the Commands section for Cards to enroll the Invixium template.
  6. Select Invixium in the Device type drop list
  7. Enter the following URL, replacing IP Address and Port as needed:

  8. Click OK
  9. Click Save on the Edit Workstation window
  10. Close Access It! Universal.NET
  11. Launch Access It! Universal.NET

Biometric Enrollment

  1. Navigate to Cardholders
  2. Search for a cardholder to enroll
  3. Select a card record
  4. From the commands ribbon, select the friendly name assigned to the Invixium enrollment command

Adding Additional Readers to an Existing System

When adding additional readers to an existing system, please ensure that the IXM Web licensing has sufficient reader counts. In cases where the additional readers will put the system over the current limit, simply request an updated license from [email protected]. Invixium will internally verify the purchase and automatically update the license accordingly.
