Adding An SIO Within Access It! Universal


Overview

In order for an SIO (Sub-Input/Output) panel to communicate with the SCP, it must be enabled within the software.

Access It! Universal
The following steps outline how to add an SIO within Access It! Universal.

  1. Navigate to the Hardware menu by clicking the hardware section
  2. Expand SCPs by clicking the arrow icon
    The installed SCPs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree.
  3. Expand the name of the SCP for which the SIO is going to be attached to by clicking the arrow icon
    The Access Areas, Alarm Zones, Tasks, and SIOs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree.
  4. Select the word SIOs from the expanded SCP
    The SIOs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree and the right hand pane will populate with the available SIOs ordered by SIO Address.
  5. From the right hand pane, select the SIO to be enable
    Be sure to edit the correct SIO address set by the physical DIP switches for the panel being added.
  6. Click the Edit button from the icon tool bar
    The Edit SIO form appears.
  7. Update the SIO Name accordingly
  8. Select the appropriate Model from the drop list
  9. Check the Device Installed check box
  10. If using an EP-2500, select the appropriate Channel for which the SIO is wired to
  11. Click Save

Access It! Universal 4x
The following steps outline how to add an SIO within Access It! Universal.

  1. Navigate to the Hardware Tree by clicking Go | Main | Hardware from the pull down menu
  2. Select the word SCPs from the Hardware Tree
    The installed SCPs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree.
  3. Select the name of the SCP for which the SIO is going to be attached to, not the Plus (+) sign
    The Access Areas, Alarm Zones, Tasks, and SIOs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree.
  4. Select the word SIOs from the expanded SCP, not the Plus (+) sign
    The SIOs will populate downward within the Hardware Tree and the right hand pane will populate with the available SIOs ordered by SIO Address.
  5. From the right hand pane, select the SIO to be enable
    Be sure to edit the correct SIO address set by the physical DIP switches for the panel being added.
  6. Click the Edit button from the icon tool bar
    The Edit SIO form appears.
  7. Update the SIO Name accordingly
  8. Select the appropriate Model from the drop list
  9. Check the Device Installed check box
  10. If using an EP-2500, select the appropriate Channel for which the SIO is wired to
  11. Click Save
