Configuring The MR-51e For Access It! Lite.NET


Overview

This document outlines the steps required to program a MR-51e module to obtain an IP address via Public DHCP (assigned by standard DHCP server), Static (manually assigned), or MSC-DHCP (assigned by EP SCP). The included utility MSC MR51e Address Configuration Tool is only used when assigning a static IP Address

The MR-51e must be running firmware revision 1.4.2 or higher.
The EP controller must be running firmware revision 1.147 or higher.

Public DHCP

  1. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 1 ON
  2. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 2, 3, & 4 OFF
  3. Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
  4. Make note of the MAC address located on the side of the RJ-45 jack
  5. Run Access It! Lite.NET
  6. Create a new subpanel
    Subpanel Type: MR-51e
    IP Address: <MACxxxxxxxxxxxx>
    If the MAC address from step 4 was 00-0F-E5-00-03-4B then the IP Address field must be entered as the Host Name of MAC000FE500034B.
    MAC Address: <MAC Address of MR-51e>
  7. Click OK
    If unable to resolve the Host Name to an IP Address, contact your local network administrator.

Static

  1. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1 & 2 ON
  2. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 3 & 4 OFF
  3. Open the included utility MSC MR51e Address Configuration Tool
  4. Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
    Once detected, the MR-51e will populate in the Devices in Programming Mode window.
  5. Select the MR-51e to be programmed
    Static IP Address: <Full 12 digit IP address of MR-51e>
    If the desired IP address of the MR-51e is to be 192.168.1.15, then the IP address field must be entered as 192.168.001.015.
    Subnet Mask: <Subnet Mask>
    Default Gateway: <Full 12 digit Gateway IP Address>
  6. Click Assign Static Address
    If assigned properly, the checkbox Address Assigned will be checked.
  7. Make note of the MAC address of the MR-51e
  8. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 2 ON
  9. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 3 & 4 OFF
  10. Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
  11. Run Access It!Lite.NET
  12. Create a new subpanel
    Subpanel Type: MR-51e
    IP Address: <Set accordingly>
    MAC Address: <MAC Address of MR-51e>
  13. Click OK

MSC-DHCP

When using MSC-DHCP, the MR-51e must be connected to the same physical switch as the EP controller.

  1. Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 2, 3, & 4 OFF
    Alternately DIPs 1, 2, 3, & 4 ON
  2. Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
  3. Make note of the MAC address located on the side of the RJ-45 jack
  4. Run Access It!Lite.NET
  5. Create a new subpanel
    Subpanel Type: MR-51e
    IP Address: <MACxxxxxxxxxxxx>
    If the MAC address from step 4 was 00-0F-E5-00-03-4B then the IP Address field must be entered as the Host Name of MAC000FE500034B.
    MAC Address: <MAC Address of MR-51e>
