This document outlines the steps required to program a MR-51e module to obtain an IP address via Public DHCP (assigned by standard DHCP server), Static (manually assigned), or MSC-DHCP (assigned by EP/LP SCP). The included utility MSC MR51e Address Configuration Tool is only used when assigning a static IP Address
Access It! Universal.NET 3.0 or higher must be installed
The MR-51e must be running firmware revision 1.4.2 or higher.
The EP/LP controller must be running firmware revision 1.147 or higher.
The EP/LP controller must be configured to use DHCP to obtain an IP address.
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 1 ON
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 2, 3, & 4 OFF
- Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
- Make note of the MAC address located on the side of the RJ-45 jack
- Run Access It! Universal.NET
- From the File Menu, select Go | Main | Hardware
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand SCPs
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand the SCP the MR-51e will be installed on
- Select the SIOs branch, not the plus sign (+)
- A list of all available SIOs appear in the pane to the right of the hardware tree
- Edit the first uninstalled SIO from the right hand pane

Click Save
If unable to resolve the Host Name to an IP Address, contact your local network administrator.
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1 & 2 ON
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 3 & 4 OFF
- Open the included utility MR51e Address Configuration Tool
- Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
Once detected, the MR-51e will auto populate in the Devices in Programming Mode window - Select the MR-51e to be programmed
- Static IP Address: Full 12 digit IP address of MR-51e
If the desired IP address of the MR-51e is to be 192.168.1.15, then the IP address field must be entered as 192.168.001.015.
Subnet Mask: Subnet Mask
Default Gateway: Full 12 digit Gateway IP Address - Click Assign Static Address~If assigned properly, the checkbox Address Assigned will be checked.
- Make note of the MAC address of the MR-51e
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIP 2 ON
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 3 & 4 OFF
- Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
- Run Access It! Universal.NET
- From the File Menu, select Go | Main | Hardware
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand SCPs
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand the SCP the MR-51e will be installed on
- Select the SIOs branch, not the plus sign (+)
- A list of all available SIOs appear in the pane to the right of the hardware tree
- Edit the first uninstalled SIO from the right hand pane

When using Panel DHCP, the MR-51e must be connected to the same physical switch as the EP/LP controller.
- Set S1 - Configuration DIP Switch DIPs 1, 2, 3, & 4 OFF
Alternately DIPs 1, 2, 3, & 4 ON - Apply power to the MR-51e or press S2 - Reset Switch
- Make note of the MAC address located on the side of the RJ-45 jack
- Run Access It! Universal.NET
- From the File Menu, select Go | Main | Hardware
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand SCPs
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand the SCP the MR-51e will be installed on
- Select the SIOs branch, not the plus sign (+)
- A list of all available SIOs appear in the pane to the right of the hardware tree
- Edit the first uninstalled SIO from the right hand pane
