SALTO SALLIS Integration


Overview

This document outlines how to program and integrate a SALTO SALLIS lockset to Access It!® Universal. While the behavior is similar to a traditional Mercury-Security lockset, the following is not supported:

  • The First Card Unlock functionality
  • Antipassback functionality
  • The Enable/Disable 2-Card Mode Command
  • The Disable Reader Command
  • The Internal Privacy Button
  • Reporting of Door Opened/Closed
    Door Held Open is hard coded into the lock to report after being opened for 40 seconds. This value cannot be changed.

Access It! Universal.NET Licensing
The following licensing option must be enabled within the Access It! Universal.NET dongle and is a per integrated reader count license.

  • Integrated Reader Count - 1/x

Required Components

The following components are required to complete the integration:

  • Access It!® Universal min s/w v4.1
  • SALTO SALLIS min s/w v3.4.0.14
  • EP-Series Controller min f/w 1.188
  • SALTO router configured for RS-485
  • SALTO Node
  • SALTO SALLIS lockset
  • SALTO Portable Programming Device (PPD)

Max Nodes/RF Locks:

  • Up to 16 Nodes per Router
  • Up to 16 RF Locks per Router

The Router has a current consumption of 75ma and each node is 45ma. 

Maximum RS485 cable/link distances:

  • Max cable length from Router to EP series panel - 2132 feet
  • Max cable length from Router to Node - 164 feet
  • Max cable lenth between Nodes - 82 feet
  • Max RF wireless link from Lock to Node - 32/49 feet

 Configuring SALLIS SALTO software

  1. Open SALLIS software
  2. Select File | New
  3. Name file and select open
  4. Assign password for the .SEF file
  5. Select INSTALLATION DATA from the left-hand menu
  6. Select Router model RS485
  7. Enter a name for the Router within the Name field
  8. Set UID and AcCode as needed within the IDCode size field
  9. Select the New node icon from the toolbar
  10. Select unique device ID from ID Node dropdown
    Each Node installed under a Router must be uniquely addressed between 1 and 16.
  11. Enter a name for the Node within the Description field
  12. Enter node MAC address
    The 6-character MAC Address can be found on the back of the Node.
  13. Repeat steps 9-12 for each additional Node communicating to the Router
  14. Select New door icon from the toolbar
  15. Select a unique ID number
    Each Door installed under a Router must be uniquely addressed between 1 and 16.
  16. Enter a name for the door within the Name field
  17. Select the corresponding Parent node for this Door
  18. Set open time (in seconds)
  19. Repeat steps 14-17 for each additional Door communicating to the Nodes/Router
  20. Once finished programming Nodes and Doors, select Save from toolbar
  21. Power on SALTO Portable Programming Device (PPD)
  22. Connect the PPD device via USB to the computer
  23. Select PPD from the left-hand menu
  24. Select Download Data
  25. Close the SALLIS software

Updating Router and Lockset Programming

Router Update

  1. Power on PPD device
  2. Using arrow buttons navigate to UPDATE ROUTER
  3. Select the green OK button
  4. Connect the 3-pin connector to the Router
    If ERROR DOESN’T BELONG TO THE SYSTEM is raised, hold CLR button on the back of the router and while holding repeat steps 2-3.
  5. Remove connector from Router once the PPD displays UPDATED
  6. Update additional routers as needed

Initialize Lockset

  1. Power on PPD device
  2. Using arrow buttons navigate to INITIALIZE LOCK
  3. Select the green OK button
  4. Using arrow buttons navigate to the lock you wish to initialize
  5. Select the green OK button
  6. Connect the 3-pin connector to the lockset
    If ERROR DOESN’T BELONG TO THE SYSTEM is raised, hold CLR button on the back of the lock and while holding repeat steps 4-5.
  7. Remove connector from lock once the PPD displays UPDATED
  8. Update additional locksets as needed

Access It! Universal

  1. Install and configure the EP series controller within Access It! Universal
  2. From the file menu, select Main | Hardware
  3. Select SCP’s
  4. Edit the EP series controller
  5. Set the SIO Port Speed to 38400 for the port the SALTO router is attached to
  6. Set Protocol to SALTO SALLIS for the port the SALTO router is attached to
  7. Click Save
    The EP controller board will reset.
  8. From the left hand tree, expand SCP’s
  9. Expand the EP series controller the router is connected to
  10. Select SIOs
  11. From the right hand pane, edit the first available SIO
    The Mercury controller supports only 1 router per channel with up to SALTO 16 locks.
  12. Enter a name for the SALTO router in the SIO Name field
  13. Set Model to SALTO SALLIS Router
  14. Check Device Installed
  15. Set Channel accordingly
  16. Select the Options tab
  17. Set Number of Readers accordingly
  18. Click Save
