NOTICE: Support for legacy Biometrics have been discontinued with the release of Access It! Universal.NET 9.0
The Biometric Gateway is a legacy SIO device that supports communication of up to eight Morpho 4G biometric readers. When using Access It! Universal with the optional biometric license, the Biometric Gateway requires the use of an external reader. Upon a valid transaction at the external reader, the Biometric Gateway will initiate the 4G reader’s verification polling.
The overall procedure when presenting a card at the external reader is as follows:
- A Card or PIN is presented at the external reader.
- The SCP controller recognizes that the external reader requires a biometric verification.
- The EP controller instructs the biometric gateway to initializes the 4G reader and the reader prompts for a finger to be presented.
- The fingerprint read is sent to the Biometric Gateway.
- the Biometric gateway translates the fingerprint template into a formatrecognizableto the SCPcontroller.
- The SCP controller compares the fingerprint read to the stored template within its database.
- If fingerprint comparison matches, the SCP controller grants access to the external reader.
