NOTICE: Support for legacy Biometrics have been discontinued with the release of Access It! Universal.NET 9.0
The 4G V-Station is a combination fingerprint reader with a keypad and built in proximity reader. When used with Mercury-Security hardware and Access It! Universal’s Biometric option the 4G V-Station supports a method of presenting a card at an external reader and then presenting a fingerprint.
The internal card reader of the 4G V-Station cannot be used.
The overall procedure when presenting a card at the external reader is as follows:
- A Card or PIN is presented at the external reader.
Card or PIN must be presented at an external reader, not the built in reader of the 4G V-Station. - The EP controller recognizes that the external reader requires a biometric verification.
- The EP controller initializes the 4G V-Station and prompts for a finger to be presented.
- The fingerprint read is sent to the EP controller.
- The EP controller compares the fingerprint read to the stored template within its database.
- If fingerprint comparison matches, the EP controller grants access to the external reader.
