Server Architecture

A Microsoft Failover Cluster is composed of two or more server nodes working together to provide failover and increased availability of applications. Access It! Universal.NET is installed on each node of the cluster and the Access It! Universal.NET service is added to the cluster as a general service resource. For true hot redundancy, Microsoft SQL Server must be installed on the same or different MSCS.

Deployment Decision

Access It! Universal.NET clustering is deployed in situations where there is a need for hot redundancy. In the case of a failure on the primary node, the Failover Cluster will automatically move the Access It! Universal.NET service to the next  best available node. A cluster can also simplify the ability to update the operating systems of the servers in the cluster, without taking the entire system offline.
