Symptoms

When importing a Microsoft Excel XLSX worksheet, the error Microsoft.ACE.OLDEB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine is raised.

Cause

The Microsoft Office 2007 Data Connectivity Components are missing on the workstation.

Resolution

Download and install the Microsoft Office 2007 Database connectivity components from the Microsoft Download Center. Alternatively, re-save the file as an XLS file and repeat the import.
