Symptoms

When navigating to the database configuration utility, the error is raised when navigating to to the Replication section.

Cause

The necessary SQL connection and replication files are missing. This is typical when the SQL Server resides on a separate machine.

Resolution

Download and install the following Microsoft file from the Microsoft Download Center.

  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Native Client
  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Shared Management Objects
  • Microsoft® Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 SP 1
