Error 429 - ActiveX Component Can't Create Object


Symptom A

When launching Access It! Universal, error 429 is raised.

Cause A

The Access It! Universal service is not running.

Resolution A

Start the Access It! Universal service using the service manager (Start | Programs | Access It! Universal | Utilities).

Symptom B

When browsing to the web client the web page displays the error Cannot create Active-X component.

Cause B

The Account running the DefaultAppPool does not have access to the Access It! Universal folder.

Resolution B

Assign access to the account IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool to the directory. Or edit the default application pool (within IIS) and change the Identity (within advanced settings).

Symptom C

When editing integration devices such as a DVR or intrusion detection panel error 429 is raised. Also, any tasks or macros associated with the devices will fail.

Cause C

Moving to a new system without installing the integration package on the new system or changing network settings for the system.

Resolution C

Re-install the integration for the DVR or intrusion detection panel and then restart the service.

Symptoms D

Selecting the Database drop down when importing from a SQL Server database using the Import utility causes an Error 429 - Active X Component can't create object.

Cause D

The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components are missing or are the incorrect version.

Resolution D

Install the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components.
